Marjorie Saylor

Marjorie is a survivor of many forms of exploitation and she understands what it takes to successfully leave a life of abuse and exchange it for  a life of freedom. She knows all too well the needs of the women we serve and aims to be an example of hope and encouragement as she works  with The Well Path to provide avenues to the many forms of healing that are needed to make it out and stay out.

Her dream for The Well Path began as she saw a need for more emergency housing and links to resources during her years of working directly with survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking as a peer support mentor and advocate early on in her career, and furthermore this need became even more apparent to her in her role as a Director of Client Care overseeing a long term shelter and resource center for survivors with another local organization. However this understanding for the need for emergent services was built in during her own struggle to escape exploitation. She understands what the needs are as she lived it herself and works hard to see that resources are available to all who seek a chance at freedom.

Marjorie has made it her life mission to bridge the gap in stable housing to reduce recidivism by providing the much needed emergency shelter support as most long term programs can not offer emergency resources and have long waiting lists for a bed specifically for this population.

The name The Well Path came to her as she discovered her own path to full holistic well-being. On her journey to recovery she learned she needed to walk several paths to find healing including the mental, physical, social, environmental, spiritual, legal, and financial paths. She created The Well Path to be the first stepping stone in a participants path to recovery. The first step needed to helping them exit exploitation and to further identify the necessary paths they need to complete their own journey to getting well.

We’re proud to have Marjorie run our program.
